Louise is our Founder, Creator, Managing Director and driving force here at 4thought Psychology.
She has passionately supported children, adolescents, and families for over thirty years in roles within education, hospitals, and private clinical practice.

As a Senior Psychologist her work centres around anxiety related disorders, trauma, and child related therapeutic interventions. Louise has a specialist interest in supporting families through issues around relationship breakdown, conflict, separation, and Family Court prevention. She believes strongly in preventative interventions and in helping parents navigate separation with respect, dignity, and an emphasis on finding ways to mutually support child welfare and wellbeing.

She continually seeks out new ways in which she can positively impact the emotional wellbeing of her clients and the wider community and is a passionate advocate for incorporating the latest therapeutic approaches into practice, including EMDR, EFT (Tapping), Yoga Therapy and Animal Assisted Therapy to profoundly impact people’s lives.

Lou works with children of all ages, adolescents, adults, families & couples.

Maddy is registered Clinical Psychologist with clinical experience working extensively across public, private and community mental health sectors. She has completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Psychology.

Maddy’s approach is compassionate, collaborative, client-centred and holistic. Her main therapeutic approaches include Compassion-focussed therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and positive psychology-based approaches. Maddy has also developed skills in clinical assessment, formulation, diagnosis, and risk assessment. 

Maddy has demonstrated ability in fostering strong therapeutic relationships with a varied range of client groups, but she particularly enjoys working with children, young people, and their families.  Maddy helps families connect and communicate more effectively through challenging circumstances. Her approach with children is calm, kind, and playful and she has developed creative ways of effectively teaching children complex skills such as mindfulness of self and others. 

Maddy supports clients across all life stages, including children of all ages, adolescents, adults, and families.

Hannah is a registered Clinical Psychologist with clinical experience working with a range of clients across the lifespan in various settings. She has completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours.

Hannah prioritises building a connection with each client to foster safety and acceptance where clients feel free to express themselves authentically. Her approach is genuine, warm, and client-centred, ensuring the client feels heard and valued to facilitate growth, insight, and change.

Hannah has been trained in several different evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Hannah is passionate about working with adolescents and adults of all ages. Hannah’s expertise focuses on anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-esteem and body image issues, relationship difficulties, stress, perfectionism, and school and work challenges.

In her spare time, Hannah enjoys being outdoors, going for walks, and spending time with family and friends.

Michelle is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in supporting children, adolescents, families, and adults to find their way through difficult times. 

With a warm, caring and playful approach, Michelle specialises in trauma-informed care; helping individuals to navigate the effects of past experiences to nurture healing and resilience. 

Michelle has worked in hospitals, community mental health services and school settings. This diverse experience has equipped her to address a wide spectrum of psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioural difficulties, and complex trauma. 

Michelle brings a neuroaffirming ethos to her work, supporting neurodivergent clients – including those with ADHD and Autism – in a way that respects and celebrates their neurodiversity. Michelle’s practice emphasises understanding individual differences and supporting clients to thrive in environments that might not always accommodate their unique needs. 

In private practice, Michelle provides tailored, client-centred therapy grounded in respect, collaboration and psychological safety. Michelle is passionate about empowering clients of all ages to build insight, develop coping strategies and make meaningful change in their lives.

Candice brings a diverse and comprehensive skill set to our practice, ensuring that clients receive the highest quality of care. With over 12 years of experience as a psychologist, and previously as a teacher, she possesses a deep understanding of learning and well-being. Candice also offers a range of therapeutic interventions to tailor to the specific needs of children, young people, and families.

Sally is a Registered Psychologist with over 16 years of experience working in schools, where she has supported students with a range of learning, social, and emotional challenges. 

She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology, is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, a Fellow of the College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists, and a member of the APS Psychologists in Schools Interest Group. 

Sally is available at 4thought to support clients seeking formal Cognitive & Educational Assessments and specialises in working with children and adolescents.

Shanaya is a registered psychologist with experience in working with individuals across the lifespan. She has previously worked extensively in  community service overseas to support mental health needs of seniors and caregivers of people with chronic conditions.

Through her recently completed Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology, she has taken a special interest in working with children, adolescents and their parents to support their developmental needs. She has also worked in public educational settings with both families and schools to support children and adolescents in their learning environment.

Shanaya is competent in cognitive and educational assessments as well as ADHD, Autism and behavioural assessments. She is also extremely passionate about providing a neuro-affirming therapeutic space for neurodiverse people with a focus on their unique strengths.

Shanaya also provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Psychoeducation to people of all ages presenting with various challenges such as depression, anxiety, social anxiety and life adjustment and transition difficulties.

James is a Provisional Psychologist who has diverse experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. James aims to make his sessions feel welcoming and comfortable for individuals from all backgrounds. He has a particular interest in helping to break down stereotypes and stigma around mental health. In doing so, James hopes to help people achieve their goals and make long term and meaningful change. James uses evidence based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help drive support for his cliental. He also administers Psychometric Assessments such as the WISC and the WIAT to help develop treatment plans and support diagnosis, if needed.

Overall, James is a kind and empathetic person who strives to make sessions as comfortable and individualised for each person he meets. He is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their goals and instill long term positive change in their life.

Nina is a qualified coach and counsellor who specialises in working with adults, adolescents, and their families. 

Nina brings insight and experience accumulated through working across a range of industries to her role supporting clients from all walks of life identify, explore, and resolve the personal challenges they face. Nina uses a warm, motivating, holistic approach and encourages people to embrace their strengths and gain perspective as they move towards achieving their goals.

Nina is a proud mum of two beautiful children, one of whom is neurodivergent, and this personal experience further fuels her passion for working with young people, and their families through associated parental work, to provide them with practical strategies and communication skills which enable positive change and encourage them to bloom.

Nina’s work as a Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner allows her to bring support to families with disabilities and neurodivergence. These skills combined with her counselling techniques provide caregivers and parents the chance to find strategies to improve the quality of their lives.

Manuela holds a Graduate Certificate of Counselling and Psychotherapy, is an accredited telephone crisis supporter with Lifeline, and is currently completing further education towards a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She offers counselling and life coaching to adults and young adults. 

Manuela’s career background is impressive, having previously worked as a lawyer, HR consultant and interpreter working in hospitals, mental health facilities, and prisons. In these environments she witnessed first-hand the devastating effects mental health concerns can have on people. This inspired her to change career direction and find ways she could contribute more directly to mental health solutions in her community.

In her work as a counsellor, psychotherapist and life coach Manuela seeks to help people to delve deeper into their emotions, make sense of them, and the setbacks they have encountered in life, to empower them to move towards creating positive change.

Namrata is a Registered Psychologist who holds a Master’s in Applied Psychology, Bachelor of Science Psychology and Bachelor of Science with a double major in Psychology and minor in Human Biology. 

Namrata has over 5 years’ clinical experience working with client groups across the lifespan in a variety of settings. Namrata employs a holistic approach when working with clients, considering the role and impact of sleep, diet, exercise, and other lifestyle factors.

Based in Western Australia, Nam exclusively works remotely via Telehealth, connecting with clients wherever they are, offering a flexible, comfortable, logistically viable therapeutic option for so many of us who are time poor and struggling to balance the demands of busy lives.  

Namrata primarily works with adolescents over the age of 13 years and adults.

Louise Godfrey is an Allied Health practitioner specialising in the mind body connection. Yoga therapy is a type of therapy that uses yoga postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and guided imagery to improve mental and physical health. Blueberry is a fluffy flower child who loves to enthusiastically explore and discover every corner of her world with a hop, skip and a jump!  She possesses an optimistic and adventurous spirit, embracing every new encounter with curiosity and independence.  Blueberry trusts and believes that only good things will happen to her, but is resilient and recovers quickly from any challenges and misunderstandings she does face.  She’ll be the first to bound over and greet a familiar face, with expectations of fun and positive vibes.  Her favourite snacks are apples, dandelion leaves, and flowers.

Our beautiful Bennie boy certainly teaches little people how to overcome their fears! His special gift lies in teaching us patience, how to respect people’s past experiences and understand how they have been shaped by them. He demonstrates how friendship is built through consistent trust, compassion, patience, devotion, and kindness.  He loves eating his greens and, if you want a secret hint to win him over, bamboo and kale are definite favourites!  This bunny is master of his own domain, and no amount of chasing will force his affections. Bennie rewards gentle patience, establishing and honouring his own definite boundaries around when he feels like seeking you out and connecting with you.

Don’t be deceived by her angelic, innocent, butter wouldn’t melt cuteness! Snooks is an in-charge boss bunny and lets everyone know it!  She’s affectionate and playful with those that earn her trust but cross a line with her and she won’t hesitate in making her feelings felt with a thump, a light nip, or simply by choosing to ignore you with cool indifference – regardless of any tasty treats you might try to tempt her with! She is endlessly inquisitive and will often team up with Blueberry to embark on great adventurous escapes into the backyard. Her favourite treats are carrots, dandelion leaves, and cucumber.   

Adam Firnigl brings a wealth of experience in operations and leadership to his role as Business Manager at 4Thought Psychology.

Adam’s approach aligns with 4Thought Psychology’s commitment to providing a nurturing and professional atmosphere, while maintaining the practice’s high standards and contributing to its ongoing growth and success.

Having lived experience in mental health, Adam is dedicated to enhancing clients’ experience, ensuring that every individual feels supported and valued. His efforts help foster a therapeutic environment where clients can thrive.

Outside of work, Adam finds joy in family, nature, and adventure, and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. He serves as Vice President of the charity Global Transitions Foundation.

Deb comes from a background in finance and administration.

After having two beautiful children, Deb found herself drawn to administrative work in the allied health realm, where she feels her attention to detail, organisational skills and strong work ethic can have a positive impact in an important environment.

When not in the office Deb can be found working toward her 1^st dan black belt in Taekwondo, reading crime novels, enjoying a bit of retail therapy and driving her mum taxi.

Michelle has a bright and bubbly nature and makes people feel welcome.

Michelle has had over 7 years’ experience working in a similar role and is committed to delivering a professional and empathetic service to ensure all clients have a positive experience.

In her time away from work Michelle likes to keep active by going to the gym and teaching dance. Michelle enjoys spending time with her hubby and grandsons, going on fun adventures and enjoying life.

Jess has a background in customer service and administration and brings a friendly, organised approach to her work. She enjoys helping people and keeping things running smoothly, creating a positive environment for both clients and her team.

Outside of work, Jess can be found spending time with her dog, hitting the gym, exploring new outdoor spots, or enjoying a little retail therapy.
