Discovering and embracing the best version of yourself…..
In adulthood, therapy can offer a safe space to vocalise and explore life’s challenges and obstacles and find clarity and direction around a variety of issues, helping uncover a path toward a more harmonious way of living. Our aim is to assist individuals in reclaiming control of their reactions and responses to external circumstances, re-build self-confidence and arm them with tools to support them in creating the life they deserve.
Our team employ a range of therapeutic approaches, exploring and tapping into what best serves each client’s individual needs. Finding a provider with whom you can develop trust and a strong rapport, and identifying the right therapeutic approach, can be profoundly life changing. The work we do with clients focuses on building life skills, emotional regulation, resilience, and mindfulness, and rescripting situations to help them rise and effectively meet the challenges encountered in the external world.
Relationship Support & Counselling
Whilst positive relationships with others can undoubtedly enrich our lives, there are times and situations where relationships can be challenging to navigate, causing us pain, grief, and anxiety, particularly during times of life stress.
We are not born with innate skills which help us function in and contribute to healthy relationships. These are skills we learn through key relationships we have and observe growing up. Our collective experiences and preferred attachment styles heavily influence the way we interact and respond in our current relationships as adults. Working to identify old patterns and beliefs which no longer serve us as individuals, or our relationship, frees up space to explore the true meaning of what it is to be in effective partnership.
Through the counselling process, clients can gain understanding as to how and why relationship challenges can sometimes reach crisis point. Skills learnt through therapy support more effective communication, acknowledging and honouring the developmental growth and needs of each person as an individual, as they navigate their journey as part of a committed relationship.
Parenting & Family Support
No one can deny that being a parent is one of the hardest jobs we will ever face. Every experience, child, and stage of parenting, from being an expectant or new parent right through to supporting kids who are now adults themselves, presents its own unique challenges and rewards.
4thought Psychology offers parents education and confidential support to help build their confidence, reduce anxiety, and stress, and learn strategies to best enable them to support their child’s social, emotional, and educational development.
4thought also offer support to families navigating issues associated with relationship breakdown, conflict, separation, and Family Court prevention. We focus on preventative interventions and helping parents manage their separation with respect, dignity, and an emphasis on finding ways to mutually support child welfare and wellbeing through the process.
