Catherine Cleary
"Sometimes it's easier to remain in distress than to take the plunge and ask for help, especially because the distress is a known quantity. In contrast, the risk of change can feel daunting."Cathy has been a dedicated psychologist since 1999 and has extensive experience working with all ages ranging from children, parents, and adults. Her passion in supporting people to turn their lives around extended to refugees in Nauru, working with both male and female prisons with the Australian Defence Force (ADF), First Nations medical centre, and in foster care.
Cathy has developed a deep texture of clinical knowledge into the challenges faced by individuals from all walks of life. Her passion extends to working with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, trauma, separation and divorce, OCD, legal issues, narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. Cathy provides a supportive, compassionate environment for clients to work through their challenges and achieve lasting growth. Cathy integrates evidence-based approaches like EMDR, CBT, DBT, Schema Therapy, and strength-based modalities in her practice.
